JIHADISTS DECLARE HOLY WAR AGAINST ASSAD REGIME

FOREIGN FIGHTERS JOIN SYRIAN REBELS

JIHADISTS DECLARE HOLY WAR AGAINST ASSAD REGIME

((Mark Glenn s note: But, but, but, but, I thought that the jihadists were the BAAAD guys Osama Bin Laden Nasrallah etc, etc, etc?
And yet, the US, GB, France, Israel and the rest of the anti-Islamic extremism coalition are FUNDING AND TRAINING JIHADISTS???????
Does not seem to make sense, until you come to realize that Israel and the rest of her loyal, dutiful whores NEED Islamic terrorism in order to see their agenda (war, war, and more war) realized.))
THE UGLY TRUTH
Abu Rami hails from Lebanon, but his heart is in Syria these days. The 40-year-old is one of hundreds of Arabs who are fighting against the Assad regime at the side of Syrian insurgents. Many of these volunteer fighters are veterans of the Iraq war, who have now brought their holy war to Syria.

Abu Rami s last foray into war wasn t much of a success. Just after his unit had crossed over the border, one of his men lost his wits. The young man cowered in the undergrowth, trembled and didn t budge. Out of necessity, the whole unit had to come to a stop: Ten Lebanese, armed with 10 Kalashnikovs loaded with 65 magazines of ammunition, had come to a standstill inside the Syrian border, without any backup.
It was pure luck that the group wasn t spotted by a Syrian border patrol and that they didn t come under fire. We sent the man with the weak nerves back to Lebanon. The rest of us made it as far as Homs, a 40-year-old man who goes by the nom de guerre Abu Rami said, two days after his return from Syria.
The protest stronghold of Homs is located around 30 kilometers (about 19 miles) from the border.
The Lebanese volunteers wanted to fight alongside Syrian rebels in the city s Khaldiyeh district.
They did just that, and retreated only after they ran out of ammunition. Abu Rami says his unit is now waiting in the safety of Lebanon for its next deployment.
Abu Rami is a commander in the growing band of volunteer Lebanese fighters who are getting involved in the conflict in neighboring Syria. Most come from Tripoli, the northern Lebanese city that is largely home to a Sunni Muslim population. Their hatred of the Assad regime is rooted in the Syrian occupation of Lebanon, which only ended in 2005.
Despite the withdrawal of its troops, Syria still exercises considerable influence over Beirut. The Shiites are also in power in the Lebanese capital, further fomenting the hatred of Lebanese Sunnis against Assad and his Lebanese allies, which including the Shiite militant group Hezbollah.
WE LEBANESE ARE PART OF THE SYRIAN REVOLUTION
Radicals among Lebanon s Sunnis view the insurgency in their neighboring country as a welcome opportunity to put an end to Damascus influence.
The struggle for freedom in Syria is our own struggle for freedom, says Sheik Masen al-Mohammed, one of the most important Sunni religious leaders in Tripoli. We Lebanese are part of the Syrian revolution, part of the rebellion. If Syria gains its freedom, then we will also win in Lebanon.
In addition to the political reasons, the sheik also has a key reason for encouraging Lebanese to fight in Syria.
Assad is an infidel, the sheik says, noting that the Syrian dictator is part of the Alawite sect, which splintered from Shiite Islam hundreds of years ago. Sheik Masen views Assad as an enemy rather than a true Muslim.
In mid-February, Ayman al-Zawahiri, Osama bin Laden s successor as the head of the al-Qaida terrorist network, called on pious Muslims to support the insurgency against the Syrian regime. In an eight-minute video message posted on an Islamist Internet page, Zawahiri claimed that:
It is the religious duty of every Muslim to aid in the uprising against the anti-Islamic regime with everything that he has ~ his life, money, views and information.
He called Bashar Assad s government a pernicious, cancerous regime.
Zawahiri targeted his message to take up arms directly at Sunni Muslims living in Lebanon, Turkey, Jordan and Iraq. He urged them to rush to the aid of the oppressed people in their neighboring country.
It is the duty of every Muslim, every Arab to fight the infidels, Sheik Masen also stated.
There is a holy war in Syria and the young men there are conducting jihad. For blood, for honor, for freedom, for dignity, he said, speaking in a warehouse filled with spare parts. In his normal life, Sheik Masen operates an auto repair shop.
But these days he has little time for selling fan belts. Every minute, new applicants arrive in his oil-covered garage. The majority are Syrian refugees hoping to find lodging, a job and help.
We are sister peoples, and the enemy of the Syrian people is also the enemy of the Lebanese, the sheik says, providing a rationale for the efforts of the fighters on behalf of Syrians who have been driven from their homeland.
Abu Rami claims that between 100 and 150 Lebanese have traveled to Syria in recent months to fight alongside the rebels. Between two deployments, he visits the wounded at the hospital and he discusses strategy with those fit for combat. Abu Rami was trained to become a television technician, but he quit his job in order to devote himself to the battle in Syria.
REBELS NEED WEAPONS AND AMMUNITION, NOT REINFORCEMENTS
Abu Rami first took up contact with the rebels in Syria last summer. He soon began crossing the border regularly for combat missions. In recent months, he was captured once for a short time and also wounded on another occasion. During what has now become one year of fighting, he has risen to become a leading figure in the network of Lebanese volunteer brigades that are in combat in Syria.
Sheik Masen claims that the Syrian conflict is becoming increasingly international.
We know of Palestinian, Libyan and Yemen fighters who are active there, he said. Iraqis are also fighting in Syria.
The situation hasn t become as explosive the period in the Iraq war when thousands of volunteer fighters flooded into the country in 2006 to wage war against the American occupiers, Sheik Masen says. It s not fighters the Syrian rebellion is lacking ~ it simply doesn t have enough ammunition or weapons, he says. We currently have 20 men willing to fight for each weapon in our possession. They need weapons and ammunition ~ not reinforcements.
The Lebanese say they try to help the rebels in whatever ways they can. We send as many supplies as we can, Masen says. But he adds that, after one year of fighting against Assad, the black market for weapons in the Middle East has dried up.
It is high time that major Arab powers like Saudi Arabia intervene and start officially delivering weapons. That is their duty as Muslims, he says.
ED: Who pays this Sheik Masen to betray his people and his nation so? He certainly walks the perfect NATO party line.
FIRST EUROPEAN JOINS FIGHT AGAINST REGIME
Sheik Masen expresses hope that the situation in Syria will soon be like Iraq was and that Arabs from all nations will join forces to battle the regime. If we get to that point, then we will be able to mobilize tens of thousands of Lebanese, he says.
I have a long list of telephone numbers of men who want to go to war in Syria, Abu Rami says, adding that most are experienced fighters. Of the Lebanese who are deployed now, around 60 percent already fought in Iraq, he says. Men who once did battle against American soldiers, and were branded as al-Qaida terrorists, are now fighting on the side of Syrian insurgents, whose victory over Assad would be entirely welcomed by the West.
Still, the involvement of foreign jihadist fighters makes it more difficult to differentiate between good and evil in the Syrian conflict.
Last week, the first European fighter voluntarily crossed the border and entered into Syria to fight alongside the Free Syrian Army against the Assad regime. He was a Frenchman who had just turned 24 and comes from a wealthy family, reports Abu Rami.
He just turned up here with his credit card in hand.
Abu Rami says he tried in vain to talk the man, whose parents are Algerian, out of it.
ED: He should have choked on that one! Unbelievable.
He bought a gun, we gave him a short bit of training and then he went in with one of our units, he says.
Still, Abu Rami doesn t believe the regime will fall anytime soon. You will first get married when the problem in Syria has been taken care of, he says jokingly to one of his subordinates. In other words, in 50 years.

IRAN BASHING, TERRORISM AND WHO CHOSE THE CHOSEN PEOPLE, ANYWAY?

Dedicated to the long-suffering Palestinians and Iranians who have been sidelined by the United Nations in favour of the Nuclear Apartheid State of Zionist Israel in the most blatant exercise in International Double Standards that our world has ever known.

This video demonstrates that the United States is not a democracy; it is a bribeocracy, largely controlled by Zionists. But citizens of other nations need not be complacent, for there is much evidence to suggest that the same pressures are being brought to bear on their politicians and officials to support Israel\’s excesses, and an Internet search will reveal that the first ever European Jewish Parliament held its inaugural meeting early in February, 2012; something that the mainstream media seemed reluctant to publicize.

FOR-ISRAELI WHORE JOHN BOLTON ACCUSES OBAMA ADMINISTRATION OF LEAKING STORY ON ISRAELI PLANNING ALONG IRAN BORDER

foxnews.com
March 31, 2012
Former U.S. diplomat John Bolton alleged Thursday that the Obam administration leaked a story about covert Israeli activity in order to foil potential plans by the country to attack Iran s nuclear program.
Bolton, who served as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations in the George W. Bus administration, was responding to an article in Foreign Policy magazine that quoted government sources claiming Israel had been granted access to airfields in Azerbaijan ~ along Iran s northern border.
The article did not state exactly what the Israelis intentions were, but it suggested it could point to a possible strike on Iran.
I think this leak today is part of the administration s campaign against an Israeli attack, Bolton claimed on Fox News .
The White House did not respond to Bolton s claims Thursday .
Bolton, a Fox News contributor, noted that a strike launched from Azerbaijan would be much easier for the Israelis than a strike launched from their own country ~ jets could stay over their targets longer and worry less about refueling. But he said tipping the Israelis hand by revealing very sensitive, very important information could frustrate such a plan .
Speaking afterward to FoxNews.com, Bolton said he didn t have hard proof that this was an intentional administration leak to halt an Israeli attack.
But he noted widely reported comments from Defense Secretary Leon Panetta in February that he thinks the Israelis could strike as early as April. If that s the case, Bolton said, then it would be entirely consistent for the administration to try to avoid that impending outcome.
The Foreign Policy article quoted what were identified as high-level sources inside the U.S. government. It specifically mentioned four senior diplomats and military intelligence officers .
One intelligence officer, who was unnamed, told the magazine that the U.S. was watching the activity and was not happy about it.
The Foreign Policy article did not specify whether any of the information came from the White House , and there is no direct evidence that this was a coordinated leak.
Clearly, this is an administration-orchestrated leak , Bolton told FoxNews.com. This is not a rogue CIA guy saying I think I ll leak this out.
It s just unprecedented to reveal this kind of information about one of your own allies, Bolton said

THE IMPENDING COLLAPSE OF THE HOUSE OF SAUD

In the early days, when PNAC was a new document, I remember that infamous hit list of eastern countries to be toppled to bring things about total domination of the globe; Saudi Arabia was on that list. Now surely the “royal” family has been in on this and knows all about it by now. .
It is possible that the current unrest could be usher to bring in even more despotic power for the Wahabbis and Salafists to increase level of international Islamophobia to encourage the clash of civilizations so desired by the Zionists. They both brutally enforce the Talmudic Noahide/Sharia Law that is so unbelievably evil. The Saudi family could flee to safety anywhere once they are deposed should this come about. The country itself? It would be business as usual for the internationals.. in whatever form that might take at the time.
But for now, the Saudi rulers are struggling to contain a new wave of public protests that has erupted across the Arabian kingdom as security forces open fire on unarmed civilians.
The big question: is the House of Saud finally beginning to collapse like the fragile house of cards that this creaking, ruling monarchy represents?

Just another frightfully despotic face of evil….
March 23, 2012
The irony is rich indeed. For the past year, the Saudi rulers have done their utmost to crush the slightest dissent in their country, while at the same time they have backed Western interference, aggression and regime change in Libya and Syria under the guise ~ wait for it ~ of advocating democratic freedom and human rights.
At least two people have been reported dead from Saudi police violence against an outpouring of crowds who have taken to the streets in the kingdom ~ a female student and a man, described as a well-known human rights activist, are the latest victims. Many others have been injured or arrested as state security forces mobilize in what appears to be a desperate bid by the rulers to contain spreading protests.
The irony is that Saudi Arabia is one of the most vocal members of the Arab League to denounce Syria for alleged human rights violations against protesters in that country. Saudi Arabia s King Abdullah has even called on Syria s President Bashar Al Assad to step down and give way to greater democratic reforms.
The irony comes in at least two parts: Saudi s King Abdullah presides over an absolute monarchy that is brutally suppressing all and any peaceful dissent in his country calling for democracy; and, two, Saudi Arabia is funding and arming subversive groups in Syria who are accused of committing assassinations, kidnappings and many other terrorisms to bring down the secular Assad government.
For the past year, Saudi Arabia ~ the world s biggest oil producer and a key Western ally ~ has witnessed persistent protests against the ruling House of Saud.
Up to now, the demonstrations calling for democratic freedoms have been mainly located in Saudi s oil-rich Eastern Province, principally in the city of Qatif.
But, most worryingly for US-backed King Abdullah and his entourage of brothers and half-brothers, there is this week growing public dissent in all quarters of the kingdom.
Major street demonstrations are reported in the capital, Riyadh, in the Central Province. Protests are also taking off in the north, such as the city of Ar ar, the western port of Jeddah and in the southern university city of Abha.
When other Arab countries saw mass protests last year against their dictatorial rulers, Saudi Arabia was also embroiled in the regional ferment. However, Saudi Arabia appeared peripheral to the momentous changes sweeping the Arab region with few media reports of any substantive popular uprising.
This can be explained partly by the ruthlessness of the Saudi authorities in crushing any incipient sign of protest in the kingdom. At least 10 people have been killed over the past year from Saudi state forces attacking peaceful demonstrations. Another explanation for the apparent low-key public protests in Saudi Arabia is the under-reporting of such events by the Western mainstream media.
The popular dissent in Saudi Arabia against its rulers is to be sure there; it is just not being reported by the Western corporate media. That is because Saudi Arabia is a major strategic ally of Western governments, for example in supplying oil, buying huge amounts of weapons, and advancing geopolitical agenda in support of the garrison state of Israel or facilitating the NATO conquest of Libya, hammering Syria, and trying to destabilize Iran.
The so-called free press and media in the West take tacit orders from their governments. The corporate media also take, depend on, lucrative advertising money from Saudi and Gulf Arab super rich entrepreneurs and state Sovereign Wealth Funds. Reporting on protests in Saudi Arabia and more especially reporting on state brutality is for the more accurately termed unfree media tantamount to cutting off the hand that feeds.
But, despite the suppression of protests and information, the people of Saudi Arabia are on the move against their Western-backed despotic rulers. And the grievances are as abundant as the oil in that country.
For a start, the Eastern Province has a large Shia Muslim population perhaps 50 per cent compared with 10 per cent overall in Saudi Arabia. The Shia have been grossly discriminated against by the Wahhabi rulers of the House of Saud. Despite possessing the vast oil wealth of the Arabian Peninsula, poverty is rampant among the Eastern Province Shia.
Secondly, the Shia of Eastern Saudi Arabia are inflamed by the House of Saud s invasion of neighbouring Bahrain and the ongoing brutal crackdown against the mainly Shia-led pro-democracy movement on that island. Recall that before the relatively recent imposition of European colonial boundaries, the people of Bahrain had close kinship with those of Eastern Saudi Arabia. It is not uncommon for families to have members in both territories until this day.
But the issue is much bigger than that. Right across Saudi Arabia, there are deep, seething grievances in the populace against the House of Saud, grievances that unite Shia, Sunni and non-religionists alike.
Despite Saudi Arabia s vast oil wealth and official GDP per capita, unemployment and poverty are rampant. As with the other Gulf Arab countries, Saudi Arabia s rulers rely on a slave labour economy recruited from South Asia and Africa. This means that many young Saudis have to endure a life of unemployment.
Other grievances include no elections and negligible freedom of expression all forms of public protest are strictly banned; the state is run on an extreme Wahhabist application of Sharia law, where limbs are amputated for petty crimes and women are forbidden from driving cars because the kingdom s religious police view that particular activity as being unchaste .
Nevertheless, the winds of change that have swept the region seem now to be assailing Saudi Arabia with increasing force.
While analysts have been focusing on the implications of a weakened Syria and Iran, the other side of coin has not received much attention. The fallout from a determined pro-democracy movement succeeding to overthrow the House of Saud in Saudi Arabia could be the surprise to rock the region, akin to the seismic event of the Iranian revolution in 1979.
Such an outcome would not be hard to contemplate. After all, Saudi Arabia as a state is a very recent and fragile construct. It was only formed in 1932 when imperialist Britain shoe-horned Ibn Saud into power against the Ottoman Empire and after the violent ouster of several tribal rivals.
Ever since, the House of Saud has ruled with fragile control over a fissile territory with deep, enduring tribal animosities. The present ailing and 87-year-old King Abdullah is one of 37 reputed sons of Ibn Saud. Rifts within the House of Saud and rivalries as to the successor of King Abdullah are constantly boiling. But even more explosive than these House of Saud tensions are those of the general population who are weary of dynastic, despotic rule.
A collapse of the House of Saud would have explosive consequences. How would the US-led warmongering towards Syria and Iran be conducted/blunted? How would that especial affront to international law and human rights, Israel, continue to survive? The price of oil would hit record levels beyond $150 a barrel and that would surely spell a coup de grace to the death-gasping capitalist world economy.
Bring it on.

VIETNAM TROOPS REVOLT: SIR, NO SIR!

I know this sounds foolish on oh! so many levels, but ~ even if we were against the war, we were so appallingly naive!
Or perhaps it might just be
Opposition is suppressed so much more brutally. As in the Bradley Manning situation.
No matter, this is an excellent film.
Interestingly, I was watching it on YouTube and half way through had to pause it. During that 10 minute pause the film was taken down. So I posting the Google version. Hopefully it will remain up. Thank you Anonymous. The excellent quality full length YouTube version is back up and I have put it up for your enjoyment/learning/etc etc etc.

NATO S LOST BATTLE IN HOMS, UN S SIX POINT PLAN AND THE CONTINUATION OF THE SUBVERSION.

Western and Gulf PROPAGANDA/NEWSSPEAK says THIS about such jubilant Syrian demonstrations:
Assad is positioned as tyrannical leader who is inspecting his spoils of a war on his own people. A pro Assad demonstration is naturally, how else could it be, described as well orchestrated with people shouting God, Syria, Bashar .
By Christof Lehmann
When the world s most powerful military alliance has been defeated in a battle, what better media strategy to use than scapegoating the victorious enemy, and to position him as tyrant, dictator and, which is very important for spin doctors, as propaganda expert.
Syria has won a battle against NATO and the GCC by voting for a new constitution, implementing reforms, and defeating the insurgency in Homs ~ all while maintaining calm enough to enter into an agreement with the UN and Arab League.
Western mainstream Media however, cannot allow NATO to be defeated in the minds of Western populations, so media need a sufficient dose of SPIN.
A prime example of the tendentious Western Media coverage of the ongoing crisis in Syria is an article by the infamous Danish paper Jyllands Posten ( 1 ) which is known for publishing the controversial Muhammad Cartoons. ( 2 ) The article Assad accepterer Annans fredsplan (Assad accepts Annan`s Peace Plan) from 28 March 2012 is yet another Jyllands Posten propaganda masterpiece. (3)
Regardless the fact that the rest of the world is acutely aware of the fact that the so called Free Syrian Army is composed of Turkish and Qatari supported armed insurgents of the Muslim Brotherhood and a rag tag rebel blend of Al-Qaeda fighters from Libya, Iraq, Saudi Arabia and elsewhere; regardless the fact that it has long been known that Turkish Intelligence has opened a recruitment office in Amman Jordan, that parts of the Free Syrian Army are under command of known terrorist, MI6 and NATO asset Abdelhakim Belhadj; Jyllands Posten rigidly maintains a narrative of a defeated opposition . Not one word about NATO s involvement.
Should Jyllands Posten and colleagues in Europe and the US follow standard operations procedures, we will first be hearing about heroic NATO Special Operations and unconventional warfare operations, when the aggressors have become overwhelmingly confident that they can present their populations a victory.
A victory is per definition a Syria that is about as stable as Libya is after NATO s humanitarian adventure there. A victory, which will be sold as victory for humanity, human rights and liberation.
Publicly admitting NATO involvement after just having been defeated? ~ In Homs?
Far too embarrassing and risky!!
One might risk that the population wakes up and demands that NATO political and military leadership uphold the standards they preach. Deconstructing Jyllands Posten`s narrative is revealing.
After the Syrian Army successfully has reestablished control over Homs, President Bashar Al-Assad visited the Baba Amr area of the city where battles between insurgents and Syrian forces have raged for months on end.
Assad is positioned as tyrannical leader who is inspecting his spoils of a war on his own people. A pro Assad demonstration is naturally, how else could it be, described as well orchestrated with people shouting God, Syria, Bashar .
A nsnbc telephone interview with a resident of Homs yesterday revealed an entirely different picture. People in Homs have been terrorized by NATO s, Saudi Arabia`s, Qatar`s, and Libya`s rag tag rebels for months.
People dared not speak over their breath in support of the government, plunders, robberies, systematic rapes of Baath Party members families were endemic and prevalent.
Yes Assad has won, the Homs resident said, he has won a victory for the people of Syria, for the ideal of Arab independence from NATO and Zionism, and a victory for the self determination of the Syrian People.
Yes, Assad promised that Baba Amr and Homs will be repaired, rebuilt, and he promised that the city will look better than before the fighting erupted, and the people will support him in the effort.
The sentiment of the Homs citizen is representative of a majority of its war-tired, battered population.
What people want and need is rest after Syria and it`s people have won a battle.
People are however also aware of the fact that the war is far from over.
The yes of the people of Syria to the new Syrian constitution has been too hard a slap into the face of Charade Arabism of the face of the sellout clowns of Saudi Arabia and Qatar, dressing for a public Arabian Nights Disney theater, reinforcing all stereotypes of what the Palestinian scholar Edward Said described as Orientalism , while being nothing but stooges, vice kings and enforcers of the Anglo-American Empire. Rich ~ Super Rich stooges ~ but stooges and sell outs none the less.
Jyllands Posten, of course, also has to position China as supporter of the tyrant. The tyrant, who by the way has a far better track record with respect to democracy, human rights, civil liberties, social and gender equality than any of the backward Saudi, Qatari, Kuwaiti heads of state who position him as tyrant.
But back to China ~ you remember ~ China s decision to veto sanctions and armed intervention has disgusted certain US-American war criminals? Now it s payback time ~ wounded animals pounce ~ claws not retracted.
Beijing is pronouncing aspirations for peace and reconciliation!! How dare they ~ so inhumane.
Al Qaeda assassination squads, terror bombings of civilians, NATO commanded, financed and equipped mass murder is so far more humane.
Why Beijing now?
Because it is opportune, and because UN and Arab League double envoy Kofi Annan pronounced from Beijing, that the victor of Homs had accepted the UN s Six Point Plan
One has to give it to Jyllands Posten, they really are at the vanguard of Anglo-American propaganda. The fact that they could care less about their spin causing fatalities has been sufficiently demonstrated in the Muhammed Cartoon case.
Better position the Chinese as supporters of tyranny and Assad as Victor of Homs (not over NATO), than asking the question how Annan mastered the dichotomy between Arab league and UN interests.
Or, for those who really can think, a few words about the fact that the Arab League is Europe`s new colonial administration, while the UN has a separate contract with NATO, so the dichotomy was actually not that significant after all?
But what is this Six Point Plan ~ actually?
And how likely is it that NATO and the GCC will give the people of Syria a chance to implement it?
1)
The demand that Bashar Al-Assad steps down is removed. Political dialog about the aspirations of the people of Syria shall be initiated.
Now what is new about that? Syria has been in a state of low intensity conflict with Israel since 1973. The Golan Highs are occupied. Mossad and colleagues are extremely active in Syria and against Syrian interests in Lebanon. Reforms were long awaited and to everyone s surprise ~ at least to the surprise of honest reporters ~ Syria began implementing the most wide reaching reforms any Arab country ever has implemented in the midst of being under attack by forces who are financed, supplied, led by the world s most powerful military alliance.
Four new political parties have been established and recognized. Election laws more transparent than any of the one in neighboring Arab Nations and definitely more democratic than the non existing ones in Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
An amnesty had been granted for those caught up in the violence; those with no blood on their hands went free.
A referendum gave the people a new constitution, more democratic than any of the neighboring nations and most certainly more Arabic than that of the countries led by orientalist dress up clowns .
In fact Syria is a progressive Arab Nation and given peace it would be a strong Arab nation that provides regional stability ~ guaranties that the issue of Palestine is not taken off the table, and that the Arab league better begins working on behalf of Arab nations. It is these very factors about Syria which guaranty that the war on Syria will continue, regardless how many victories it`s people may achieve against Imperialism.
2)
That the UN monitors the ceasing of military aggression both from the side of the so called opposition and that of the Syrian Military Forces. Now since NATO and the UN have signed a separate contract in 2008 ~ one that was kept off the media\’s radar for years ~ it is doubtful how the UN can be an impartial monitor.
The victory for Syria lies in the fact that the demand of military intervention is off the table. On the other hand, however, it is most likely that the monitors will be abused to document incidences that could be the necessary pretext for renewed demands for military aggression against Syria.
Another risk factor for Syria is, that it will be more easy for militant insurgents to dig in, entrench themselves in safe zones where the Syrian forces won t be able to operate and maintain law and order without making themselves vulnerable for being blamed and positioned as aggressors.
It is a security nightmare for Syrian security forces, who, however, have years of experience of dealing with infiltration and terrorism.
3)
That both sides shall grant access for humanitarian aid to disputed areas by maintaining a daily 2 hours cease fire.
4)
That the Syrian government shall release prisoners who have been arrested during demonstrations.
At this point it is worth remembering that the Syrian government already months ago has granted a general amnesty for all who had been arrested in the cause of the unrests who did not have blood on their hands.
The government of Syria is in no way interested in crowding its prisons so it should not be an issue at all.
5)
The Syrian government should grant foreign journalists free access to Syria which it has done for months, provided that it were journalists, not agents, and that the Syrian government could guaranty their safety. After all, we have seen how the death of a journalist can be abused by Western Main Stream Media.
Another thought coming to mind at this point is that Private Bradley Manning, who released a video in which US troops knowingly murdered journalists still is in custody and under conditions described by many as torture.
6)
That the government shall allow the population to gather and demonstrate peacefully. also that is no problem for Syria ~ it seems to be a far greater problem for Jyllands Posten however, that the people of Homs peacefully gathered at the visit of their President Bashar Al Assad, shouting paroles like God, Syria, Bashar .
This is the real Syria ~ the Syria which neither Jyllands Posten nor other Main Stream Western Media will allow its readers to get to know about. No matter how many Western Journalists Syria grants a visa to.
Syria,
its government,
its people
have won a significant victory
against Zionism and NATO Imperialism.
It has won a significant battle for Arab Independence and self-determination.
It will however, most likely, have to brace for a protracted low intensity war ~ no matter how successful it is with its reforms.
A stable Syria is not a Syria that seems to be acceptable for NATO and its orientalist dress up clowns from Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
A stable Syria could indeed bring so much stability to the region that the unthinkable happens ~ Syria, Iraq and Iran in a united front against Zionism and Anglo-American Hegemony.
Did I just hear the sound of one clapping hand?
